Welcome Aboard!

These pages will cover the restoration and upgrades I have done to a 1979 Choate 40.
I acquired the vessel in poor condition at a reasonable price and so far have put twice that amount into her.
From the evidence I have found, she had been de-masted, run aground several times, slightly flooded, run hard and put away wet.
Fortunately, she had new standing rig with a used mast from a Catalina 40 and a recent head job on the motor.
The rest of the info I'll segregate into pages for detailed information.

Now For Sale

The boat was sold in Sept 2018 but I’ll leave this here for reference…..

Unfortunately, my health has gotten to a point that I can not enjoy the boat as I'd like. I'm having back troubles that could compromise my health if I attempt to do anymore long term sailing. Motoring is just fine for now  but I'm getting older, not younger. The boat has basically been in storage for several months and is on the hard for now.  As well, I spend my winters in the S. Pacific.

If I were to sell the boat for parts I could easily get $50k so I'm asking 49k. She's a strong sea going vessel and proved herself cruising to Mexico and back with very few problems. I hate to see her sit. Boats need to be underway and she loves to sail.
